Another Glowing Report

Lauren had her 6-month pediatrician appointment this morning, and we are happy to report that she is still thriving. She is now weighing 17 pounds, 14 ounces (80th percentile) and measuring 28 inches long (95th percentile). Yes, she will be tall like her mommy and daddy! She is healthy in every way and we are so thankful. She still needs some support when sitting up, but she's much more interested in standing than sitting these days. She has mastered rolling from her back to her tummy, but seems to have forgotten how to roll back--she'll remember eventually! She can grasp things with both hands and transfer toys between hands. (Probably doesn't seem like a big deal, but it's another step in her development.) Her two bottom teeth have both poked through her gums, which supposedly means the top two will be on their way within a month or two. She loves to grab anything within reach and wants to put everything in her mouth. She especially loves paper or anything that makes a "crinkle-noise." She still sleeps beautifully at night, 10 to 11 hours consistently. She also continues to resist naps, but the doctor said that's probably because she's getting most of her sleep in at night, and I would much prefer that! He also said to feed her more solids, including veggies and pureed meats (yummy!). She had her first taste of applesauce on Monday as a half-birthday treat, but she was not impressed. She'll eat it when we mix it with the rice cereal, but not on its own.

I am really enjoying being a stay-at-home mom for the summer. Perhaps in two months (or two weeks!) I'll be ready to go back to work, but right now I can't imagine anything better than spending the day with my beautiful daughter. I thank God every day for giving me such a wonderful family. I am truly blessed!

Isaac loves paper too! He loves to grab any mail or napkins we have and crumple it or rip it apart. He's pretty entertained with napkins when we go out to eat.
