7 Months Old

Here are some fun facts about our sweetie at 7 months old:

*Lauren decided recently that she could talk. She has always loved to squeal and screech, with the occasional "mama" or "gaga" thrown in. However, last Sunday as we were finishing lunch she started in with "bababababababababa" and pretty much hasn't stopped since.

*She already seems to like music, and pays special attention to certain ads on TV that have songs she enjoys. (The "All You Need Is Love" song on the Chase credit card ads is a particular favorite.) She also loves one of our local TV news anchors, Shari Small. I watch the Today show in the morning as I'm feeding Lauren, and whenever the intro music comes on for a local news break, Lauren stops eating, looks at the TV, and smiles when Shari's face appears.

*Lauren shows no fear of heights. She loves being held over Daddy's head, and even likes it when he holds her upside down. (It's one of the things Gary does to get her to stop crying!)

*She loves big, loud kisses on the back of her neck. :) She also loves it when Mommy imitates her. (The other night I got her laughing so hard she even had tears in her eyes!)

*Lauren is doing all the normal 7-month-old things: sitting well, grabbing everything in sight and putting it in her mouth, eating lots of fruits and veggies, practicing standing up (with our help), and enjoying discovering new things. No crawling yet, but that's perfectly fine with me--the longer she is immobile, the easier my life is! :) We love to see all the ways she is changing and growing, and she seems to get cuter with every passing day. We are blessed!
