Catching Up

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. Gary and I have been sick this week, and Lauren is still getting over her cough. For those keeping track, that's a combined total of 7 illnesses in the Weyel house in the last month. Are we done yet?

In happier news, it is amazing to see how much Lauren is learning these days, other than how to type. :) She can show you where her head and her toes are if you ask, or if you sing the "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" song. (We're still working on the shoulders and knees part!) She also does one of the hand motions for "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and for "The Wheels on the Bus," which are all songs we do in her class. She knows to hold the phone up to her ear, and to use her brush on her hair. She loves to push buttons on anything, particularly toys that make music and then she "dances" to the songs. She still uses her "All done!" and "More!" signs when she is eating, and sometimes will even say "A-Da" when she is all done. (I thought I was imagining this at first, but she did it a few weeks ago in class after her snack, and the teacher said, "I heard that!") She still loves to play with other kids, especially her friend Aidan, whose mom watches Lauren when I'm at work. Here are a few pictures of them together, taken by Aidan's mom on Halloween (hence the pumpkin outfit).
They even held hands during snack time. (Lauren is mid-blink, not sleeping!)
Aidan's mom also took this adorable picture of Lauren.
We made a quick trip up to Roseville last weekend (during some of our few well days!) and had a great time seeing friends and family. More pictures from that visit can be seen at "Lauren's Photos." We are really looking forward to Thanksgiving and Lauren's birthday, when we will have family at our house to celebrate. Lauren's almost one!! :)
