Although there is still over a month left of the official summer season, my summer ends next week as I return to teaching. I am sad to see it go, as I have had such a nice time with my family over the last few months. There have been challenging moments, but overall Lauren is at a great stage and so much fun to play with.
Last weekend we took her to feed the ducks and geese at Laguna Lake. She was a little afraid at first...
... but soon warmed up and liked throwing the bread to them. After that, she played in the park for a while and found a slide that she could climb up and slide down all by herself. She was very proud. :) Doing things on her own is a big deal these days, and she always says, "Self!" when she wants me to stop helping her.
After the park, we went to McDonald's for lunch and Lauren got her first Happy Meal. Surprisingly, she didn't seem to like it all that much. She ate 1 chicken nugget and a few fries, but drank all her milk.
