Thanks to all of you who have prayed and offered suggestions for us. Jonathan has his good days and bad days, and every morning is an adventure since you never know what you're going to get. But here are some other things to share about Jonathan at this age...

*Nursing is going amazingly well. I had so many issues with Lauren, that I'm honestly surprised at how much easier it has been this time around. (In fact, perhaps it's going a little
too well. It's the only thing that will soothe Jonathan much of the time!)

*He slept for 6 hours straight on Saturday night!! Unfortunately, I think it's because he spent most of Saturday crying and he was just exhausted. And last night he was back to his usual 2.5 hours of sleep at a time. But still! It was a great night and a good reminder that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

*Things he likes: sucking on our pinkie fingers, the vibrating bouncy seat, walks in the stroller, laying on his side or tummy, watching toys that are dangled in front of him, being wrapped up in thick, soft blankets, being held upright, and eating! Things he doesn't like: pacifiers and bottles, the swing, laying on his back, going to sleep, and being left alone.

*Lauren and I have been working hard to make him smile. I know it's still a little early for that, but he looks like he's really trying to respond to us when we talk to him. We've even gotten a few smiles, but I think they're just coincidence.

By the way, does that last picture remind you of anyone? Here's Lauren at about 6 weeks old...

So adorable Carolyn. I am so happy things are going well regarding eating. If it helps any Evan is finally starting to settle down now during the day. He was really fussy in the beginning. Keep us posted. Love ya, Kim and the boys81801sac
Carolyn- When Chris was a baby we had lots of colic problems too. But when he was 2 1/2yrs. and we were in Mommy & Me class I realized that he had an allergy to milk/ dairy. Yes I was nursing him when he was a baby but I drank milk & ate dairy -- this went to him when I nursed and caused the colic. So after all this time with colic & tummy gas, I started giving him Lactaid (product that helped him to digest the milk protein he could not digest) and he was FINE! He did grow out of it by around 5 or 6 years old. I don't know if this is your situation, but it wouldn't hurt to check it out! I'll be praying too!-- Love, Eileen
Oh my goodness! He is such a cutie pie!!
Hope you get a few more 6-hour nights soon!
Love,
