*Stats: I don't have info on his height and weight, since our next doctor's appointment is in February. Needless to say, he is BIG. His 6-month sleepers are already getting small on him. I'm always putting brand new outfits on him that barely fit. I'm already dreading our grocery bill when this kid is a teenager.
*Colic? What Colic?: VERY thankfully, the colic days seem to be long gone. He is still "high-maintenance" and has his fussy times, but he is such a joy compared to his grumpy earlier days. He gives each of us huge smiles whenever he sees us, and he has even started giggling. Overall, his "colic" wasn't nearly as bad as some of the horror stories I've heard. Which is easy for me to say now that it's in the past...
*Yay for Naptime!: After some "sleep training," Jonathan has become fairly good at taking his naps. Many times, I can put him in his crib with his pacifier, and he will stare at his mobile until he falls asleep. On good days, he takes 3 naps--two about 1.5 hours and one about 45 minutes long.
*Boo for Nighttime!: Nights are a different story... I was hoping that once he learned how to fall asleep on his own, he would be better at sleeping through the night. No such luck. He is still up at least twice a night, and mommy is TIRED. Any thoughts on how to fix that? I would give just about anything for 8 straight hours of sleep.
*Rollin', rollin', rollin': As you have seen, he is now rolling from tummy to back. And in the last few days, he has been trying so hard to roll from back to tummy. He spends most of his floortime on his side, trying to figure out how to get his arm out of the way. I've never seen a baby work this hard at rolling!
*Likes: "Talking" with us, squealing, getting attention, being held, standing up (with our help, of course), batting at his toys, watching his big sister, EATING (he's still nursing about 7-8 times a day, plus 1-2 bottles of formula), sucking on his hands, drooling everywhere, spitting up, and snuggling--my personal favorite.
He is an enormous amount of work, creates giant piles of laundry, keeps me sleep-deprived and exhausted... and is one of my greatest JOYS. I love you, Jonathan Henry Weyel.
