...10 months old.
...teething, teething, teething. Or should I just say grouchy, grouchy, grouchy. He has 4 teeth now, 2 on top, 2 on bottom. From all of the drooling, ear-tugging, and whining, I'm fairly certain he will have more coming in soon.
...always on the move, cruising the furniture, doing some wobbly standing, and attempting three steps on his own so far (total, not all at one time!).
...already loving Sesame Street and Elmo. Baby Einstein, not so much.
...saying "mama mama mama" when he's whining, making other happy noises when he's not.
...trying to chase his sister, and loving it when she chases him.
...eating a variety of foods, and especially enjoying Cool Ranch Doritos, french fries, and Froot Loops. (That's right, mother of the year over here. To be fair, he also appreciates fresh fruit, crackers, and plenty of Gerber snacks.)
...frustrated with his lack of ability to communicate. (We're all frustrated about that one.) He's at the point where he often knows what he wants but can't tell us what it is. We're working on baby signs, and sometimes he does his own version of them, but doesn't really seem to get it yet.
...turning one year old in less than 2 months. Time to start planning a celebration!
{Update: Tonight we discovered two things: 1) Jon likes cheese, and 2) Jon can say, "All done"!!! We were asking him after dinner tonight if he was all done, and he usually gives us a blank stare or makes some grunting and groaning noises. But not tonight! He pretty clearly said, "All done," and we all just turned to look at each other in amazement. We got him to say it one more time before he got frustrated with us. Let's hope this is for real--and it sticks!}
{Another Update: Lauren and I tried for quite a while to get Jon to say "All done!" after breakfast this morning. He just stared at us like we were insane. Bummer.}
