Happy Easter!

It may not be Easter until tomorrow, but we've already had some holiday fun around here. Grandma and Grandpa Weyel visited this week and brought Easter goodies for the kids. Jon got a brand new trampoline (which both kids love) and Lauren got some new toys--along with a shopping spree for new clothes and shoes. Grandparents are such a blessing!

While they were here, Lauren and I decorated Easter eggs with Grandma:

This morning, we went to a community Easter egg hunt, sponsored by a local church. There were thousands of eggs and hundreds of kids--literally. This picture shows us standing in front of one section (for the 5- & 6-year-olds), and there were 4 more sections just as crowded as this.

Both kids were pretty quick at picking up eggs, and Jonathan was especially motivated once he figured out there was candy inside each one. Needless to say, we came home with a ton of eggs (as did most kids there).

Jonathan is already chomping away on the candy in this picture...

Tonight we're celebrating "the night before Easter" by trying to focus on the true reason for the holiday, before all of the gifts and candy take over. We'll be watching this Veggie Tales DVD and making Resurrection Rolls. Tomorrow is a full day of Easter baskets, egg hunts, church, and family time. May we all have a very blessed Easter celebration!

He is Risen indeed!
