Saturday was my 29th birthday. It was also the day we had to take Lauren to the ER, where she was then admitted to the hospital overnight. I think the looks on our faces say it all.

The same thing happened as last time: she seemed to get a cold on Thursday, which by Saturday morning had turned into wheezing and difficulty breathing. Being a Saturday, we had no choice but to take her to the emergency room at the hospital, where we were desperately hoping they would give her some breathing treatments and let her go home. But they thought she was too sick for that, so Mommy and Lauren spent yet another night in the pediatric ward of the hospital. Thankfully the medications worked quickly, as they did last time, and we took her home on Sunday afternoon. She has officially been diagnosed with asthma now, and we will be giving her medications every day to try to control her symptoms.

In an attempt to find anything positive in this whole ordeal, here are a few things Lauren actually enjoyed about the hospital visit. When they moved us from the ER to the Pediatric Ward, Lauren and I got a long ride on a gurney, which she thought was pretty interesting.

She also got an early birthday present from her Grandma Lillo, who thankfully was here to help us through everything. It's a little dog she can pull on a leash.

Lauren's favorite part was all of the toys they have in the pediatric ward. She loved this little car that she could "drive" around in.

Now we are home and Lauren is sick but improving. We are looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving and Lauren's birthday this week with our family, and enjoying some happy time with our little sweetheart. God is good.

Oh no, what an unpleasant weekend of events! T and I will be praying for Lauren's speedy recovery. We're thankful for modern medicine and for doctors' wisdom for sure. God is very good.
That just breaks your heart to see her with tubes and tape on her pretty little face. She does look excited to ride in the car so I'm glad she had some fun! Happy One year birthday tomorrow Lauren! YEA! I can't believe it's been a year already. This day seemed so far away and look how big our kids are! So crazy! But such a blessing aren't they? Gotta love em.
