Lauren at 21 Months

Our big girl is 21 months old already! We did our own weighing and measuring this morning, and she is still about 26 pounds and between 35 and 36 inches. (That's right--just under 3 feet tall and she's not even 2 yet!) She is learning so much every day, and able to do more things on her own all the time. Her language skills have just exploded lately. She is saying so many words and putting a lot more of them together. We often hear a running commentary from her, with a mix of real words and gibberish.

The last few weeks have been tough, as Gary was sick, then Lauren was sick, and now it's my turn. Lauren had a horrible cough and congestion, but a trip to the doctor told us that her asthma wasn't a problem. Yay! She's hardly eaten anything in the last week (which is why her weight is back down to what it was at 18 months), but she discovered peanut butter sandwiches yesterday and has already had 2 of those. :) I also started back to work this week, which made it more of a challenge, but Grandma and Grandpa Weyel came and braved the sick house to help with Lauren. (Thank you!)

Only three months to go until her 2nd birthday, but she already seems like a 2-year-old in so many ways. She is certainly the size of a 2-year-old, she talks like a 2-year-old, and she says, "No!" like a 2-year-old. :) Stop growing up so fast!
