Jon has been attempting to stand on his own a lot more lately. Last night we had another big event: his first step!!! He was standing at our ottoman and wanted to get to his exersaucer. He couldn't reach both at the same time, so he let go of the ottoman, took a step, and grabbed his exersaucer. One small step for Jon, one giant leap for Jon's development! :)
It has been so interesting to see the differences in how Jon and Lauren approach things. Lauren started standing on her own, taking steps, and walking all within a few days, fairly soon after she turned one-year-old. It was almost as if she didn't want to try it until she could do it really well. But Jon loves to practice. He'll let go while he is standing up and then get a huge, proud smile on his face. (He'll also remind you to clap for him!) Different, but equally adorable. :) For a fun comparison, here's Lauren at 10 months old (which Jon will be on Friday):

Wow, what an accomplishment! I loved seeing the old pic of Lauren too. What a doll. My sister in law (with me at Firestone Sunday) is positive that she's the cutest girl of all time. :) I couldn't agree more.
