Christmas does not actually end each year until after our annual trip to Roseville to celebrate with Gary's parents. This year was no different, and thanks to Dramamine and personal DVD players, the 5-hour drive is not nearly as difficult as it used to be. :) Plus, we get to arrive to this:
A warm, cozy, festive home, with people who are delighted to see us. :)
We spent the next day at a small local zoo, and it was so fun to see Jon's complete delight in the whole experience. I truly believe seeing your children enjoy things is even better than enjoying them yourself.
I never get tired of those dimples.
Or that smile.
We saw lots of adorable animals...
...and a few scary ones. :)
Then we took a ride on a little train. The conductor happened to also be a photography instructor, and he fixed the settings on my camera that have been off forever. Can you see the difference in these photos? (It's okay if you can't, because I can!)
That evening we had our Christmas celebration, with more American Girl and more Thomas trains. Do you see a theme at our house?
And we were even blessed with a visit from the newlyweds, Toni and Jon.
So thankful for another good visit, and to be loved and cared for in such a sweet way.
