Thriving

Jonathan had his one month doctor's appointment this morning and I am happy to say he is one healthy baby! He is now 24.25 inches long (99th percentile!!) and 11 pounds, 11 ounces (94th percentile). I think it's amazing (and exciting) to know that some day my son will be taller than I am. In fact, I could be the shortest one in our family--and at 5'10", that's saying a lot!

The best part of the appointment was when Jonathan gave the doctor several huge smiles. Our doctor kept saying, "How old is he? He's not suppose to be doing that yet!" He also told me that smiling early is a sign of intelligence. ;)

The "colic" issue is ongoing, if that is indeed what he has. Sometimes I think he's just a high-maintenance kid. ;) With the exception of Monday, this has been an average week, with some fussiness and some smiles during the day, and LOTS of fussiness in the evening. But he's been sleeping about 5 hours during his longest stretch at night, which is wonderful for mommy. I just hope that gets even longer soon. I've read that 6 weeks is the "fussiest" point for babies and it starts to get better from there. He will be 6 weeks next Wednesday, so we're getting there! Right now I am just thankful for a handsome, healthy baby boy, and I know the best is yet to come.

How very handsome! Did you try the dairy thing that I mentioned? We were so hoping it might be this and you all might get some relief! Love to you all!
