*We have his 9-month check-up next week, so I'm not sure of his official stats yet. However, it's safe to say he is tall and big. :) He is already about the height that Lauren was when she turned one, and we all know she is very tall. I guess her little brother is going to pass her up some day.
*I've already listed most of his current accomplishments, including crawling and pulling up to standing. We can add "cruising" to that list, as he has started the process of walking along the furniture. I'm guessing he may walk earlier than his sister (she started soon after she turned one) but only time will tell.
*Lots of babbling, mostly "dada" of course. (He only seems to say "mama" when he's upset or eating.) However, he's not nearly as verbal as Lauren was at this age. I know this is to be expected, but I'm anxious for him to start talking. :)
*He is such a spirited little guy. He expresses everything so strongly, which can be difficult at times. However, it's so much fun when he is happy--giggling, waving, smiling, screeching, laughing. Although sometimes it would be nice to have a "mellow" baby, I truly appreciate his infectious joy.
*He's trying different foods, in addition to his baby food, but mostly likes crackers and crunchy things. He doesn't like fresh fruits or cheese yet--nothing "mushy." Most of his meals are babyfood and crackers. Still only has two teeth, although I'm fairly certain he is teething again.
*Mostly sleeping through the night, going to bed about 7:30 and getting up between 6 and 6:30am. He tends to cry out in his sleep fairly often, but doesn't truly wake up. Good thing he has his own room now! He's still doing two naps a day, although each nap varies from 45 minutes to 2 hours. It's harder to get him to sleep now that he can stand up in his crib, though.
I love looking back at my old blog posts of Lauren at this age. They're actually very similar in ability, temperament, and growth. It will be interesting to see if that changes. Love you, little Jon!
