Summer Fun

Although summer is long gone around here (with three of us back at school already), I wanted to share a quick recap of summer adventures that I never had a chance to blog about. I didn't have the camera out as much as usual this summer, but here are a few fun moments I did manage to catch on film...

  • Daddy got to throw out the first pitch at a Cal Poly baseball game (thanks to a few perks from his work), and Lauren was his helper. We also got to sit in the section with free hot dogs and drinks. Good fun was had by all four of us, until about the fourth inning when we decided it was time to head home. Maybe next year we'll get to see more of the game.

  • Jon loves to sit on Lauren's lap to "read" these days. I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures of the two of them:

  • Daddy can make anything fun, even yard work:

  • One way to keep kids entertained over the summer: edible playdough! Lauren loved to squish it, Jon loved to eat it.

  • Grandma and Grandpa Weyel came to visit over the 4th of July holiday, and stayed in our RV in Pismo Beach. Lauren loved having them close by, and even spent the night with them once. We all joined in the fun for a hot dog dinner followed by s'mores. Yummmm!

  • We only made a couple of trips to the beach this summer, mostly because Jonathan is not a fan of sand or sea. But we had a few enjoyable moments and a fun picnic lunch before calling it quits on this day:

  • And finally, on September 2nd, Gary and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. We couldn't find a sitter for the evening, so all four of us went to dinner at a small restaurant in Avila. The food was delicious, the weather was beautiful, and the kids were mostly well-behaved. :) When we got back home, we got a message from a friend at church, willing to watch the kids for the rest of the evening. So Gary and I headed back out, just the two of us, and enjoyed cake at the Madonna Inn. We're hoping to go on a trip (just the two of us!) in the months ahead and really celebrate 10 years of wedded bliss!

And that is our very long, very random, summer 2010 recap! Thanks for reliving the memories with us!
