Know

Three blog posts in one day? I must be going for a record here.

Gary is at church while I am home with the sick kid. This is a fairly common occurrence around here (someone--or everyone--seems to miss church often, in spite of our best efforts), so it isn't particularly unusual. But today is Palm Sunday, and it feels like I should be there, recognizing the Truth of what our Savior did for us, thanking Him for what was to come.

So instead I read one of my favorite blogs, knowing that she always points me to grace and reminds me of truth. She writes about one of my favorite verses:

"His words come to mind, Be still and know that I am God (Ps. 46:10), and I notice especially today that it doesn’t say to be still and feel. It says know, and that feels particularly important today."

She's right, it does feel particularly important today. This is a week of remembering--not because it feels good to do so, but because we are grateful. We stand in the light of His grace, knowing that our forever is secure because of what He did in the past. And we know it to be truth.

They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting,

“Hosanna!”

“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”

“Blessed is the king of Israel!”
