We have a small group bible study through our church that we absolutely love. We have been meeting with them over a year-and-a-half, and have really gotten to know and appreciate these friends. We all decided it would be fun to try camping together, so we headed to San Simeon over Labor Day weekend. Everyone stayed in tents except us--we were the lucky ones who got to borrow my parents' RV! A lot of things about the weekend were great, including the fact that the kids were thrilled to go and we got to spend lots of time with good friends. However, the biggest challenge was that Jon got sick on our first night there with a cold, and was up most of the night. Since all 4 of us were sleeping together in one small RV, that meant we were all up most of the night. But after a drive to Cambria for cold medicine on Saturday, the next night was much better and we persevered. Overall, we were reminded of just how much work camping really is--and that we have good friends to share life with!
By the way, we also celebrated our anniversary on the Sunday of our camping trip.
Twelve years of marriage so far! Congrats to us! :)
