Superbowl 2013

After 12+ years of marriage and 7+ years with kids, it's fun to look back and see the traditions that have sort of developed on their own. Our Superbowl party is one of those: started years ago with having just a couple friends over, and has gradually morphed into it's own entity. Local friends seem to know that come late January, they'll be receiving an evite to the Weyel house for the "big game." This year we broke the record with 31 guests; a packed house with TVs in two rooms and so much fun.

The food at this event has taken on a life of its own. Football brownies are the one thing I am requested to  make every year. Other than that, we all hunt down the best appetizer recipes we can find and everybody brings something until the dining table is overflowing. Gary covers the drinks, with pitchers of margaritas that are truly yummy.

This year was extra special, since the 49ers were playing. We won't discuss the outcome of the game. We'll just remember how much fun we had with good friends and amazing food. See you all next year!
