We spent much of this past week with my sister, niece, and nephew, who were here in SLO on vacation. It turned into something of a "staycation" for the kids and I, as we got to join them in lots of fun activities. The kids were thrilled to have their cousins nearby (although we are still teaching Jon how to "play nice"), and we were all glad to have more time with them.
The week started with a celebration for my parents' 40th anniversary. What a blessing it has been to have parents that have loved each other for so long!
After that, we spent much of the week doing fun activities, including the park...
...lunch at McDonald's...
...feeding the animals (and eating ice cream!) at the Avila Valley Barn...
...visiting the beach and tidepools in Morro Bay...
...and roasting hot dogs and s'mores around my parents' fire pit.
What a joy to live in a place that feels like a vacation! Thanks for visiting, sis!
